Quincy Farmers Market

Farmer’s Market Coming Back to Downtown Quincy

(Quincy, Illinois) The Historic Quincy Business District is pleased to announce the start of the 28th Season of the Quincy Farmer’s Market. The market, held in Washington Park, will begin on May 15, 2010. Local vendors will be set-up and ready to sell everything from crafts and flowers to fresh produce. The Quincy Farmer’s Market will run every Tuesday and Saturday morning through October 30th. The hours will be from 7am until 1pm for both Tuesday and Saturday markets in 2010.

The Quincy Farmer’s Market draws vendors and customers from all over the Tri-State Area and continues to be one of the area’s best markets. The Historic Quincy Business District recently received a grant from the Illinois Department of Agriculture for the Quincy Farmer’s Market. The grant will provide $10,00 towards advertising and workshops for specialty crops. “We’re very proud to have received this grant,” said HQBD Director Travis Brown. “With receiving the grant in 2009, we didn’t expect to be awarded the 2010 grant, so it came as a very nice surprise. The grant will give us the opportunity to really promote the vendors we draw at the Quincy Farmers Market.” For more information about the Quincy Farmer’s Market or the Historic Quincy Business District, please contact Executive Director Travis Brown at 217.228.8696.

The Historic Quincy Business district is a non-profit organization with the mission of promoting, revitalizing and preserving Quincy’s Historic Business District through broad-based community support, including both public and private partnerships. The District extends from Front Street to Twelfth Street, and Broadway to State Streets.
