There has been a Christian Science Reading Room in Downtown Quincy since 1900. The Reading Room at 129 N. 6th Street is an oasis for all visitors to downtown Quincy. It is not just for church members, everyone is welcome! You can check your emails on the internet, and restrooms are available.

There is comfortable seating for those who want, or need, to take time to rest or read. The weekly newspaper, the Pulitzer prize winning "Christian Science Monitor" is a good place to start. It brings news from all over the world. The librarians are there to answer questions about Christian Science to those interested, and to help visitors find healing answers to their problem - or you can read or study on your own. There are Bibles, books, and pamphlets on Christian Science, and Bible reference books and products for sale. Hours are Monday and Wednesday 1-4, Tuesday and Friday 10-4, and Saturday 10-12.

On Wednesday evenings a church service is held in the Reading Room at 7:30pm. Passages on topics of timely interest are read from the Bible, and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Hymns are sung, and members of the congregation share examples of how their understanding of the teachings of christian science is made practical in their daily lives. The meetings last no more than an hour. No collection is taken. All are welcome!
